Welcome Matt
“Tramore Tourism puts out the Welcome Matt”
Tramore Tourism, the official tourism body for Tramore is delighted to have completed a new welcome feature on the Sommerville roundabout located on the Waterford Road here in Tramore.
This roundabout was awarded to Tramore Tourism last year under the county council roundabout sponsorship scheme, and the committee worked very hard over the winter to plan and fundraise for this project. We were able to raise the funds necessary for the project by producing a 2011 photographic calendar of Tramore with images selected in a photographic contest that was open to the public. Our local shutterbugs really captured some of the best images of our town and the people of Tramore were great to buy the calendars and to support us. The Calendar sales helped to raise almost eight thousand euros towards Tramore Tourism and Tidy Towns community projects for this year and we would like to thank everyone who contributed to our success. We would also like to thank John Colfer Landscaping for the great job he performed, Bryan Griffin for the bespoke signage, and Morris Conway and Owen Dullea from the county council for their assistance and guidance.
The newly sponsored roundabouts throughout Tramore, phase one of the park development, the Newtown and Guillamene improvements, and the many other areas that the Tidy Towns and business community have improved in the past year has made a marked improvement in the overall curb appeal in the resort. These highly visible improvements and our Blue Flag status for Tramore in 2011 should stand out in the hearts and minds of our visitors this year and hopefully bring them back time and time again.
